N2 - The authors of the study aim to reveal the role of women's entrepreneurship in the development of the Russian economy. The authors identify the key factors determining the growth of women's entrepreneurship in Russia, as well as the problems hindering the faster growth of women's entrepreneurship. The authors formulate proposals to support the development of women's entrepreneurship in Russia. The purpose of the empirical research conducted by the authors was identifying behavioral and managerial patterns of businesswoman in Russia in comparison with businessmen in Russia and businesswoman in the developed countries. The research methodology included the use of in-depth interview method in framework of the qualitative research. The method of in-depth interview was based on the voluntary participation of 10 respondents. As a result of the empirical research the authors made the following conclusions: women are motivated to start a business due to the desire of creative self-realization; the development of a personal brand is a crucial factor both to attract partners and to increase customer trust; if for men the main purpose of doing business is to making money, for women is equivalent to a number of purposes including self-realization, communication with people, making money and recognition in society.
