The article discusses the question of the place of a linguo-cultureme in the terminological series of linguoculturology. The zoonym «a serpent» was chosen to draw up an essential idea of the linguo-cultureme. This zoonym is widespread in Russian and Chinese linguocultures and shows a connection between a linguistic and extralinguistic cultural content entering the linguocultural field «Animals» and the microfield «Reptiles». The results of the research take into account syntactics, semantics, pragmatics and syntagmatics. The analysis of the linguo-cultureme «a serpent» includes a study of its internal form, cultural and conceptual content on the basis of lexicographic reference books and contexts of the National Corpus of the Russian and Chinese languages and its syntagmatic relations. The analysis also reveals the metaphorical use of the linguo-cultureme «a serpent» in all its axiological characteristics, as well as the identification of the whole variety of paradigmatic (hypo-hyperonymic and derivational) system relationships.
