The article analyzes is there any similar between researcher's practice in Germany andRussia. The National Library of Russia and the German National Library show convenience of using electronic collections for the researcher, also their links with catalogs, possibility of ordering a publication(both in print and in electronic format) if there was not in the collections. This research has been preparedon the basis of experience gained during an internship at the University of Greifswald, as well as work as abibliographer at the National Library of Russia.
