This article discusses some aspects and features of the use of general scientific terms in various fields of knowledge.The methods of continuous sampling, convenience sampling, and random sampling as well as statistical, comparative and descriptive methods have been used. The analysis proved the validity of selection criteria of the English terms for the reference book of general scientific lexis. It has been found out that there is a correlation between the frequency of terms and their derivation productivity. The prospects of further developments in the online systematization of terms and validation of multilingual term systems have been identified.
