The main theoretical aspects of the development of the sensory, motor and cognitive fields of man are discussed in the article. The influence of movement on the development of the psyche is analyzed. As a schematic basis of the principles of development and formation of the psychomotor sphere, a level theory of the organization of movements of N. A. Bernshtein is given. The theoretical and practical works of his followers are examined. The process of forming sensory and motor integration is considered. As a key principle of such formation, the classification principle is pointed, which contributes to the development of the skill of forming various semantic hierarchical structures in the information flow. The article concludes with a summary of the sensory and motor integration approach.
