Cultures of the past affect the present as the images that we have created ourselves. Therefore, the search for and preservation of artefacts, as well as their presentation and interpretation are an important form of identity. In today’s knowledge society, cultural memory turns out to be a symbolic and a political capital. The Museum received two incentives for its development. The first is connected with cultural renaissance, an unprecedented tourism development. The second concerns the transformation of knowledge and history artefacts into a commodity. Museums are restored with a view to gaining profit, which results in changing their nature. The trend of modern technology and economy has been the construction of society as a giant Disney Land. Visitors come to the Museum not to become acquainted with something and to learn something, to explore and discover, but to have fun. The Museum has become a form of spectacle, and this should be taken into account when training Museum specialists. In addition to museum researchers, art managers are needed, capable of organizing a show so that visitors could get acquainted with history that consolidates autonomous individuals into a civil society.
