The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on tertiary education. The academic community faces
an unpredictable future and needs to design a flexible and resilient e-learning approach. Foreign language teaching
has all but turned online. Tertiary level educators need to design methodological proposals to develop students’
cognitive, social and communicative skills through their engagement in the execution of authentic tasks and their
acceptance of the responsibility for their own learning.
This paper discusses project-based learning as a method for maintaining a collaborative e-learning
environment in ESP teaching. The study suggests ways of using student videos in the English for the Media course.
The research focuses on incorporating student video projects in the online language classroom as a way of
enhancing the learners’ language skills. The paper analyses the key findings of the experimental study
