This article is dedicated to teaching reading during Russian as a foreign language on the advanced level and considers Annular Segmentation as a quick reading instrument. The structure and semantics of the annular segment allows us to find graphical selection of an extract with stylistic features of super-phrasal unity in it. That is why one can take annular segment as an expressive variant of extract, where the first and the last sentences make up a semantic ring and the core includes details. Annular Segmentation in this case becomes style forming reception, organising the whole text. Being aware about the features of AS, students understand the main information
in a more effective way, which allows professor concentrate on the analysis of separate lexical or syntax constructions, for example. This method is the part of integrated teaching methodology of Russian as a foreign language on the advanced level and can be used in teaching other languages.
