The state activity in the religious field is an important component of the sinological research. This is due to the special position of the Emperor's fig- ure in the imperial Chinese culture and the functioning of the state as the sacred institute. In addition, it is important that the state set the institutional framework for religious traditions that exists in the imperial territory.The article gives of historical overview of the most important events related to the history of forming the official state cult system in the Song eve. The ar- ticle touches upon the themes of the imperial cult, of the regulation of state175relations with the Daoism and the Buddhism as well as the forming of the legal local cults system.
