The article is devoted to a little-studied problem of the transfer of speech disorders in translation from Polish into Russian (on the example of the poem “Strassnaya Zaba” by the Polish poet K. I. Galczynski). The purpose of the article is to consider ways of transmitting individual deviations from the literary norm when translating from Polish and the dependence of the translator's decision on the author's intentions. The study leads to the conclusion that the main means of the transfer of speech disorders are functional analogs and compensation but to preserve various types of extralinguistic information in the text, the translator must also take into account the goals that the author pursued using the speech defect as the main stylistic means.
