The education quality problem is often viewed through the category of 21st century skills development. The structure of skills that are relevant to our time, along with critical, creative, systems thinking, the ability to solve problems, work in a team, learn the world through research and design, includes the ability to understand oneself and others, including through reading and creating texts. Thus, the pedagogy of the text turns into a significant factor in the development of a new quality. This study answers the question of the extent to which this skill is claimed by our students and developed by our teachers.
