The article aims to accent some important features of the category “evidentiality” which has certain specific in different languages. The comparative research
of the news’ headquarters and articles in Bulgarian, English and Russian allows
to say that now there is a great difference in part of “marking” the evidentiality in
texts. Bulgarian verbs have special grammar forms used to show that the text-producer needs to feel and to highlight a distance between the “renarrated” text and himself. “Preiskazni formi”, the term used in Bulgarian for such verbs, has been called ‘mode’, ‘sentence type’ etc. But the researches underline that such forms are used when it’s not possible to prove the real state of the thing or when the “narrator” retranslates the word of a person who is not reliable. Being used in Mass Media such forms mark the information as “unchecked”, “doubt”, “I repeat but I don’t rely on the source of the news”. But the English-speaking newsmakers prefer to present news ‘objectively’ even if they are fake. But most of the news-producers understand all the danger of the “post-truth” society. That’s why it is important to take care of all the stylistics nuances of the special forms of evidentiality.
