The author offers a course that consists of three modules: Translation as a Profession, Translation as a Business, and Translation as an Industry. The course is to embrace the issues that are not usually taught as a discipline, although they may be explained randomly. The course will consider aspects such as professional associations and journals, professional ethics, full-time and freelance job, organization of a translator's work, the quality of translation, launching own translation agency, a translator's legal competence, trends in the translation industry, and more. The course could become part of a curriculum for translators and an effective tool to develop their professional and business competencies.
