The paper presents an analysis of the frequency of one-word units and two-word combinations that are expected to be homophones in Russian oral speech (for example, “ takzhe ” - “ tak zhe ”). We compiled a list of such pairs which contains information on the frequency of both one-word and two-word interpretations of such homophones in Russian oral speech (according to the spoken subcorpus of the Russian National Corpus). For further analysis, we selected the pairs in which the two-word combination is more frequent than the one-word unit (for example, “ ottogo ” - “ ot togo ”, “ itak ” - “ i tak ”), since we expect that in the process of spoken word recognition, the two-word interpretation of a homophone is activated in the mental lexicon along with the one-word unit or even faster than it. A preliminary analysis of the realizations of such units in Russian speech, carried out on the material of the Corpus of Russian Oral Speech, showed that the assumption of absolute (unconditional) homophony of one-word units and two-word combinations requires further verification on representative material, since for some pairs (for example, “ vvidu ” - “ v vidu ”) we found differences in the pronunciation of the one-word and two-word units.
