Health psychology is a capacious and non-specific topic that includes a number of popular and discussable issues most people can relate to, such as positive thinking, stress and ways to cope with it, addictions and bad habits, eating behavior, quality of life, attitude to health, etc. This material, presented in a target language, can be successfully integrated into the course of studying English, namely into such aspects as oral and written communication, as well as reading, similar to how this is done within the CLIL-approach. Students are given the opportunity to study one aspect of the topic in detail. It provides for group project activities and, ultimately, planning and writing a reasoned essay. This quasi-integrated approach allows to expand students' knowledge in the subject area of health psychology, as well as develope their language skills. The acquired subject knowledge will be useful to students in later life and in professional activity; lexical skills will be useful in translation activities in working with texts of this subject.
