The article deals with teaching Russian comparative constructions to English-speaking students through contrastive analysis. Six variants of the usage of English comparative construction as...as are described and translated into Russian. The usage of the particle ‘zhe’ is discussed and the rules of using this particle in Russian comparative constructions are suggested.
