The paper presents the experience of developing and analyzing a test for the course “Theoretical phonetics of the English language” for continuous assessment in the educational programmes “Linguistics” and “Philology”. The purpose of the research is to compare the results of multilingual samples of subjects (30 people) based on statistical analysis and determine the main parameters of the test, its reliability, and validity of items. The conclusion is made about the suitability of the proposed assessment tool in the appropriate educational context. The game form of the test helps to increase motivation and reduce students ‘ anxiety.
