The paper is devoted to the problem of travel demand estimation between nodes
of large transportation networks based on the information processing from video recording systems. The basis of the roads user behavioral dynamics is the idea of Wardrop user equilibrium.
Travel demand estimation problem is formulated as an inverse problem to the equilibrium traffic
assignment problem. The input data for such model is information about the arc flows, obtained
using plate scanning sensors. For a number of networks an analytical solution of travel demand
estimation problem has been proposed. In the general case, it is necessary to use heuristic algorithms to find a solution to the formulated bi-level problem of the travel demand estimation
based on the transportation network arcs loading data
