An important communicative-pragmatic feature of the art works created in the era of predominantly oral reception used to be as follows — the address of the author-narrator to the audience, the narrator's peculiar explicit dialogue with the narratee reflecting the features of the spoken language of that period. The main discourse markers, as means of actualization of oral reception, were addresses, imperatives, deictic words (pronouns, particles), exclamative and interrogative constructions with interjections and interrogative words. The material for analysis is various in genres works of medieval German-language literature: epic, romance, Schwank.
