The article analyzes the main characteristics of interactive course books designed for teaching Russian as a foreign language. In the creation of such manuals, special attention should be paid to the selection of content, the development of interactive tasks and the form of a course book. In this case, interactivity will help to identify hidden reserves of intellectual and emotional sphere of students they may use these reserves for effective foreign language acquisition.
