The article examines the problems of literary relations and intercultural cooperation between Russia and Poland in the first half of the XIX century. The paper analyzes the role of poetical translation in intercultural cooperation by the material of the poetical cycle by Adam Mickiewicz “The Crimean Sonnets” - poetical diary of a romantic hero who tries to understand the strange Eastern world. Author’s method to transfer artistically the peculiarities of foreign culture bearer’s worldview is examined in the context of M. Bakhtin’s dialogue of cultures conception by the example of poet’s innovative use of close affinity between sonnet formal structure and its content.
