The paper provides an overview of foreign literature on decorporation and deprofessionalization. The fuzziness and ambiguity of these concepts, the diversity of attempts to conceptualize them are shown. De- corporatization is associated with a wide range of problems in the formation of modern society, from the narrowing of the sphere of responsibility of corporations to shareholders to the dilution of corporations as such. Professionals, as one of the constituencies, could benefit from some aspects of decorporation, creating more flexible, horizontal and open structures for entering markets. However, professional communities are faced with a crisis of professional identity, a weakening of professional norms and ethical standards. The processes of decorporation and deprofessionalization, occurring simultaneously, can give rise to social insecurity of new (self) employed, activate the process of the formation of new institutional structures that perform expert and regulatory functions.
