Th e paper deals with the problem of localization viewed upon as an aspect
of translator’s activity in electronic text processing. Th e author argues that modern technologies of electronic text localization show a tendency of dehumanization of language as a means of communication between people. To overcome this tendency a certain humanitarian component should be developed on the basis of economic assistance of client companies and adaptation of translator education programs to suit the aim.
