Gender barriers to career development are described as a particular aspect of the gender gap in career opportunities. A methodology was developed aimed at assessing the subjective perception of gender barriers in the organization. As a result of approbation of the methodology, it was revealed that men assess the presence of gender barriers lower than women. The career strategies used by women to overcome gender barriers in an organization are described within the gender approach.
