Objective of the present study was to identify the peculiarities of psychophysiological development of girls engaged in university cheersport. Methods and structure of the study. Sampled for the study were the 1st-year female students of Saint Petersburg State University, Saint-Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University, and Saint-Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (n=54). The psychophysiological characteristics of the subjects were tested in the following sensorimotor response tests: light response time, sound response time, reaction to a moving object, and tapping test. Results of the study and conclusions. The analysis of the study findings confirmed that the full-scale cheerleading training process had a positive impact on the psychophysiological characteristics and psychomotor processes, manifested in the improvement of the reaction to a moving object, reduced trait anxiety, increased attention span and improved attentional set-shifting.
