The paper concerns the problem of pragmatic equivalence within the concept of translation maneuvering. The model consists of three components - 1) topic potential, 2) audience demand and 3) presentational devices. Each component contains pragmatic filters allowing to reach rhetorical effect in translation that can be identical to the source text and may be different from it. Pragmatic equivalence lies in the act of Interpretation and in the balance of constituent components of the model.
