The research goal was to identify the specifics of conflict resolution service for socially vulnerable groups of St. Petersburg population (mainly in communal, household and family spheres). It has been discovered that socially vulnerable groups mostly need professional assistance in resolving conflicts that arise with representatives of more prosperous groups. The novelty of the work identifies the need of consulting work conducting with one, usually the weakest side of the conflict before reaching the level of mediation. These clients are often characterized by reduced adequacy in the problem situation awareness, high level of frustration, they are captivated by their subjectivity, and not able to recognize their own mistakes that brought them to the problem situation. The consultant helps to overcome many stereotypes of conflicting behavior and develop more effective strategies in the struggle for their rights. In the meantime, due to a lack of understanding of the specifics of this kind of work with weak groups, their problems remain to stay outside of public discourse. This is why these groups are often left alone with their problems, which reduces the lifespan of their representatives.
