The article highlights the role of instructional design in creating MOOC. It further analyzes the key issues in developing of an online course for a theoretical discipline. In particular, it describes the instructional design for a Translation Studies online course. The article also shows various instruments to encourage students' learning activity and their knowledge and skills assessment and evaluation.
