In the current article the possibility of using relaxation by teenagers to provide their emotional comfort in modern socio-cultural conditions is analyzed. Wide range of perceptions of adolescents about relaxation are revealed: "escape from reality", "pleasure", "refusal of activity", "transition from due to pleasure," "desire to switch activities”, “awareness of the need for relaxation", " risky ways of relaxation” as well as "volatility of relaxation need”.The article also identifies key situations requiring relaxation: stress, studies, excessive physical exertion, and those not requiring any relaxation: computer, financial difficulties, contact with emotionally important person. It sets a relationship between the need for relaxation and self-esteem, school environment, interpersonal and mystical anxiety of adolescents and number of experienced fears. The existence of the adolescent relaxation factor is stated.
