The article is devoted to the consolidation of the practical experience in specific problem solving by the translators of phantasy genre, as well as the modern scientific view on the problem. The choice of the topic is urged by the importance of the issues in translation of nonequivalent lexis. The generalized judgment on the requirements to the adequate translation is formulated; the priority is given to the full communication of the author's position, which tends to be realized through the idiolect of the author.
