The purpose of the present study is to reduce a system of partial differential equations that model perturbations in a layer of perfect electrically conducting rotating fluid bounded by space- and time-varying surfaces with due account of the magnetic field diffusion and inertia forces. For the reduced equations we construct solutions describing the propagation of small-amplitude waves in a horizontal infinitely extended layer and in a long narrow channel.
