Vkhutemas, established in Moscow in 1920, was the birthplace of Soviet modern design and later became an important position of Soviet Constructivism. The establishment of Vkhutemas responded to the needs of the new society and reconstructed the social discourse of art. Established the basic
system of modernism design education through mutual reference with Bauhaus, which directly influenced the formation of modernism. But for a long time, the
research on Vkhutemas has not attracted enough attention from the academic circles. Based on the extensive collection of data, this article makes a more detailed
study of the rise and fall of Vkhutemas in the early 20th century, and interprets the early modernist design of the Soviet Union based on the dialectical relationship
between politics and culture under the background of the times, Analyzed the influence and enlightenment of Vkhutemas.
