The one-loop self-energy correction for the 1s electron g factor in H-like ions was evaluated. As a result, the accuracy of the theoretical prediction for a carbon by a factor of 3 and for oxygen by a factor of 2 was improved. The new value for the electron mass was found to be me=0.000 548 579 909 29 (29) (8).
