The article describes the principles of creating a textbook of Russian as the language of the specialty for foreign students of 1-2 years of university studying in the field of "Dentistry" and having the language level A2-B1. The authors stresses the need to create a textbook that would meet the main objectives of training: the successful acquisition of theoretical knowledge from the field of dental science (including terminological apparatus) in parallel with the mastering of lexico-grammatical and syntactical material of the Russian language system, necessary for the acquisition of professional competence. The article describes the thematic selection of the material, which is carried out in accordance with the content of the university curriculum for students of dentistry in the major disciplines. It also reports that the basis of the textbook are the texts equipped with a set of pre-textual tasks, tasks in the text and post-textual tasks; the authors indicates a gradual decrease in the level of adaptation of educational texts as you progress to more complex topics.
