In this work the new water-soluble biocompatible polymers for construction of multibiofunctional scaffolds for bone tissue engineering were developed. The polymers with controllable aldehyde group content were synthesized via free radical polymerization and subsequent covalent modification procedures. The macromolecules obtained were studied in view of their capacity to be adsorbed on two commercial mineral supports used in bone tissue engineering. Furthermore, the cytotoxicity of polymers adsorbed on mineral matrix was also investigated.
