N2 - One of the mechanisms from the museum of History of Saint-Petersburg StateUniversity is being analysed. This mechanism is named after the French mathematician andmechanician, supposedly the creator of this design, Jean Gaston Darboux. There is little description ofsuch a mechanism in the literature on the theory of machines and mechanisms. Its properties need tobe studied. At the laboratory workshop, simple formulas are found for the implementation of theanimation of the movement of this mechanism. This model for the mechanism of the 19 century iscreated during the student workshop.
