High temperature X-ray diffractometry has contributed a lot to the development of the doctrine of polymorphism. This article discusses the results of the study of thermal polymorphous transformations serving the basis of the analysis of several reasons on conservation of the symmetry of the substance at polymorphous transformations and of refining of the conception of structural type.
