The coronavirus crisis has exposed the shortcomings of the Eurozone (EU), which manifested itself after the global financial crisis. Self-imposed restrictions within the EU have prevented economic recovery over the past decade. However, recent measures by the European Central Bank have given a new brief. The developing practice of "restored sovereignty" shows better results than the expectation of common European solutions. In this vein, it seems necessary to reform the Maastricht Treaty and the monetary policy of the EU.
