The issues related to the performance of the 43rd International Conference on decision and Control (IEE CDC 2004) are discussed. The Conference on Decision and Control (CDC) is conducted every year by the Control Systems Society (CSS) of the International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEE), and is highly popular because of its high scientific level and quick publication of reports. The 43rd CDC was held in December 14-17, 2004 at the Atlantis Hotel, at Nassau, Bahamas. The program included 936 sectional reports carefully selected from a group of 1879 submitted reports.
