N2 - Abstract—: In 2024, the journal Pochvovedenie—the first journal in the world entirely devoted to soil sciences—celebrated its 125th anniversary. Pochvovedenie is a unique periodical based on the fundamental ideas of genetic soil science created by the Russian scientist V.V. Dokuchaev. The article briefly describes the history of the journal and the stages of its development. It reveals the main topics and directions that have developed in the journal over the past 5–10 years and provides examples of the most interesting cited publications during this time. It shows that the journal is developing dynamically and harmoniously under current conditions. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
