The article presents the results of an empirical study of the features of the value-motivational sphere in the professional activity of IT specialists, where the professional success of an IT specialist is considered from the point of view of the level of sophistication and the specifics of its motivation and value orientations. The features of motivation and value orientations of IT specialists were identified, and a comparison was also made of the motivation and value orientations of IT specialists of different ages, work experience, gender, different professions, with the presence of higher education and without it, different frequencies of changing jobs. The data was obtained that the satisfaction of basic needs and personality development, the integration of lifestyles, autonomy and service are paramount value orientations for IT specialists in their professional activities.
