The Present Subjunctive forms are considered within the holistic approach to the language as a human’s cognitive activity aimed to adapt them to the environment at the moment of speech. Such an approach to the language puts a special emphasis on speech context and peculiarities of human’s perception. The author shows that this form represents the opposition of the speaker’s conceptual knowledge and the observer’s phenomenological knowledge which leads to the detachment of a human’s consciousness from the process of speaking in the moment of speech and makes the utterance subjunctive.
