N2 - This article examines the critical shortage of English-speaking professionals in China's cultural tourism and attempts to respond to an increasingly urgent need for a fast-track in-service training integrating professional re-skilling with the English language level-up. The implementation of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) as a pedagogical approach to in-service course design is suggested. By integrating language instruction with job-related content, CLIL approach enhances both language skills and professional competencies to ensure better performance it the workplace. The literature review investigates CLIL implementation in higher education institutions and vocational training programs across China The development of integrated courses that simultaneously improve English language proficiency and cultural tourism knowledge is advocated and adaptation strategies are suggested. CLIL-based fast-track in-service training course for cultural tourism practitioners is presented as the short-term solution to the current shortage of English-speaking workforce capable of navigating the complexities of the global cultural tourism landscape.
