Аβ-peptide is the main component of amyloid plaque that leads to neurodegeneration in case of Alzheimer′s disease. We have constructed yeast strain containing a chimeric Аβ-SUP35MC gene on the plasmid and deletion of the chromosomal copy of SUP35. Our data indicate that hybrid protein Аβ-Sup35MC is a yeast prion.
