Since the time of S.M Solovev in the overwhelming majority of works devoted to the “era of palace coups”, expressed the opinion that one of the main moving forces in the political life of this period was the guard, whose bayonets overthrew some and exalted others. Nevertheless, for the most part, these works, describing the actions of the guard in a particular conspiracy, almost completely omit in their studies such an important aspect as the motives for her participation in the coup, her attitude to the current government, and her mood on the eve of the coup. These topics in relation to the guard on the eve of a bloodless coup on the night of November 25 to 26, 1741, which transferred the supreme power into the hands of Elizabeth Petrovna, are the subject of this article.
