the study is dedicated to identifying the spatial and temporal differentiation of the
US ethnic composition from 1980 to 2015. Five largest European groups (Germans, Englishmen,
Irish, Italians, French), two largest Asian (Chinese, Indians), one largest Latin American (Mexicans),
as well as Indians as the native ethnic group of the USA and African Americans as a special group
formed on the territory of the USA were chosen for the analysis. As territorial units, the counties are
analyzed, the population of the county centers of which exceeds 300,000 people and separately the
territories of the states without these counties in order to demonstrate the differences between small
and rather large settlements. As a result of the study, the reasons for the existing ethnic composition
of the country and the territorial characteristics of the distribution of ethnic groups were identified,
as well as changes in the placement that occurred from 1980 to 2015. Based on the available data
about interracial marriages in the USA for 2010, a forecast was made of the rate of mixing races in
the future.
