Various types of crimes against the faith were committed on the territory of the Russian Empire in the XIX - early XX centuries. One of them was the taking of a «false oath» by someone. This article is intended to characterize the development of criminal norms in Russian law on such an unusual religious crime and to consider their law enforcement in this period.
