The article discusses stylistics features of "Rules of Promissory Notes Circulation" (1729) – a directive and regulatory text which demonstrates the elements of a modern juridical style – compositional stability, a large number of adopted foreign terms, syntactic complexity
and some markers of directive modality determining the relationships between civil and authorized members of the business situation.
