The period chosen by the author reects in the best way all the main manifestations of the problems of the organization of the British Army, which originated before the beginning of the Crimean (Vostochnaya) War. The inuence of the press and the dissatisfaction of British society formalized «Select Committee to inquire into the condition of our army before Sebastopol…». This Committee forced the British Prime Minister Aberdeen to le a resignation and concentrated British society on the true reasons for the unsatisfactory state of British Army in the Crimea
