The article attempts to summarize the experience of scientific guidance of undergraduates from the people's Republic of China in the process of preparing their master's thesis. The authors focus on communication failures caused by cultural interference, which are usually encountered by undergraduates from China when writing their final qualifying work. The analysis allowed the authors to develop specific recommendations that contribute to a more effective fostering of linguo-cultural competence of undergraduates in Philology.
